How to Lose 10 Pounds Before a Big Event

Okay, so you've got a week to shed some extra pounds before the big date on Saturday night! Up to now you may have been staring long and hard at the mirror, cursing like a sailor and trying to figure out how to drop that extra ten pounds by wishing it away. Give it up Cinderella, wishes aren't that magical. However, you can do it and I'll tell you how.

Water, Water, and more Water!

Yes, that's what I said: Water.

If you need to lose that weight quickly, water can help you do it. Our bodies naturally retain water. Now, when you drink a ton of it, your body will loosen its tight grip on the extra water that's already in your body. This is one of the keys to losing that extra weight, and in less than a week.

Here's how to lose 10 pounds with the water. Drink 100 ounces of water every day for that week.

But if you're like many people and hate the thought of drinking so much water, you could always improve the taste with a squirt of lime or lemon. Sweeten it with a slight dab of honey if you have to, but drink your butt off. Literally!

Eat Smaller Portions.

Many people who want to know how to lose 10 pounds quickly neglect this little trick. Rather than eating three large meals, eat 6 meals a day! You heard that right: 6 meals every day. The trick is to make them much smaller than a normal-sized meal.

So what kind of portions are we talking about? It could be something like 1 to 2 ounces of lean meat along with 1/2 cup of greens such as spinach. Follow that simple trick and you should have a more trim figure in time for a night out with Mr. Hot Pants.

Whatever you do, do not starve! Make sure you eat, just use smaller portions, and drink that water.

What a relief it will be to fit into that gorgeous dress you bought for Saturday night. And afterwards, you can celebrate with a little Rocky Road!
