Effective Solutions To Stretch Marks Forming on The Skin

by Jen Hopkins

No one really likes seeing stretch marks on their skin. Stretch marks easily form on the skin since aging can reduce the elasticity of the skin. These red or purple lines result from the inability of the skin to go back once it had been stretched due to damaged elastin. Once the skin loses its elasticity, over stretching it can only lead to stretch marks.

If left alone, these stretch marks really take a long time before they heal. There are actually different ways to hasten the repair of the damaged elastin fibers. People do not have to be discouraged when getting rid of the stretch marks on the body.

Stretch marks are primarily treated with cocoa butter. The application of this cream has been recognized as one of the most helpful ways to remove stretch marks on the skin. The secret to the healing power of cocoa butter is that it can deeply penetrate the skin. It can effectively work to repair the damage beneath the skin layer. Elastin and collagen repair will hasten to reduce the appearance of the stretch marks on the skin.

Stretch marks creams are also effective ways to get rid of stretch marks on the skin. Like cooca butter, this is applied on the skin in order to reduce the stretch marks. Most stretch mark creams contain glycolic acid, retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids and tretinoin. These creams enhance the repair of the skin. When applied, skin regeneration becomes faster, replacing the damage primary layer of the skin.

Microdermabrasion is a treatment done to remove fine lines and dead skin cells. This is also done to reduce the stretch marks on the skin. Microdermabrasion basically polishes the skin, making it smoother and flawless. As the crystals are blown on the skin, these remove the top layer, promoting repair of the skin. This stimulates the new skin cells to grow on the treated area. As the new skin grows, the stretch marks will be reduced and what is seen is smoother skin.

Laser treatment is an effective but an expensive way to treat stretch marks. Paying for this treatment is worth it as long as you can afford it. Laser uses a beam of light to remove the primary layer of the skin with the stretch mark. After a few sessions, the regeneration of new skin will eventually get rid of the stretch marks that can be seen on the skin. It will be noticeable that the stretch marks lighten in color until it begins to disappear.

To effectively treat stretch marks, one must start immediately. Initially, stretch marks are red or purple indicating that they can still be treated. The danger comes when the stretch marks already becomes white because it will be harder to treat. Getting rid of stretch marks is not really a hard thing to do. Just know when and how to treat these things and get perfectly flawless skin.
