Scar Removal: Procedures and Products

by Martha Fitzharris

If you suffer from severe acne it isn't uncommon to end up with acne scars. As a matter of fact, anyone that has ever had acne scars knows that they can affect your personal image, which is why scar removal should be a consideration within your acne treatment routine.

There are several methods for getting rid of scars, but the solution usually has to do with surgery, whether it vary between excision, grafting, or laser treatments. However, there are some resurfacing procedures that can be less bothersome and just as effective.

When choosing an acne scar removal procedure, you will need to take into consideration the location, size, and type of scar or scars. Small scars, for example can be treated by using microdermabrasion or scar creams, however, if you are wanting to treat larger scars you may have to turn to more invasive treatments such as surgery and skin grafting.

How to Deal with Acne Scars

In order to deal with scars properly the first thing you need to do is to follow a regular cleansing routine, which includes a good acne cream. Keep in mind that acne conditions that haven't been treated correctly can develop into severe acne scarring, however, if your acne condition is already severe there may be little you can do to prevent their formation.

Acne scarring can be treated with either surgical or resurfacing techniques. Again, the method you choose will depend on the location and extent of your scar tissue. Here is a list of the most popular procedures used to treat acne scars.

Punch Excision for Acne Scars

Punch excision is often used to treat deep, atrophic scars such as ice pick scars. This procedure requires the use of a special tool to "punch out" the area where the scar is located. Once the scar tissue has been removed, the edges of the excised skin are sutured together.

Treating Acne Scars with Laser Therapy

Fractional laser therapy is perhaps the best type of laser treatment for scars. This type of laser treatment bypasses the epidermis and works on the deeper layers of the skin. This will help improve the appearance of the skin without leaving many visible signs of treatment.

Scar Creams & Skin Care Products

Natural skin care creams and traditional products can be equally effective in your fight against acne scars. Choose products that help dissolve scar tissue and promote the production of collagen. Rose hip seed oil and snail serum are two of the best ingredients for scar treatment.

Rose hip oil can be used in its natural state or as part of another skin care cream.

By following a consistent acne treatment routine, you can reduce your chances of developing acne scars, however, if you suffer from severe acne, you may want to try BIOSKINCARE to help promote acne scar removal. BIOSKINCARE is a natural scar treatment made with snail serum. This natural ingredient can effectively dissolve scars without producing unwanted side-effects.
