Batman Villains - What Is The Story With Poison Ivy?
Poison Ivy is one of the most sultry of Batman villains. Poison Ivy: Experiments turned Pamela Isley into the Poison Ivy we know today. While she was taking Biology, her professor seduced her and injected her with poisons and toxins. This poison transformed the plain Pamela Isley into the plant-like menace that wreaks havoc on Gotham City. One of the Batman villains, Poison Ivy started out as a wealthy girl with parents who could care less. When she grew up, Poison Ivy dropped out of school after her boyfriend suddenly passed away. All of these events set the stage for Pamela Isley to transform into Poison Ivy. During this time, she moves to Gotham City from Seattle. She starts out by threatening the city with toxic spores unless they do what she wants. Thankfully Batman came to Gotham City that same year and was able to stop Poision Ivy's evil plot. She is the most seductive of the Batman villains, using her potions to make people fall in love with her so she can get what she wants. Batman quickly puts a stop to her rampage and Poison Ivy gets put into a mental institution for insane criminals. Poison Ivy's plant powers develop throughout the years until she becomes a super villain. Her lips are poison so she uses this as one of her greatest weapons. She can literally give her enemies a kiss of death. Poison Ivy was brought into the picture when comic book readers started to sympathize and relate to Catwoman. They needed a new evil female Batman villain to take her place. Poison Ivy gave readers and audiences another female nemesis to hate. Clothed in leaves, with flaming flower bedecked red hair, Poison Ivy was one of the greatest Batman villains that the masked super hero ever had.
